Email clients use various formats when they save your messages, making it difficult to migrate from one client to another. With Aid4Mail, you can extract your emails and convert them to other formats. The software supports numerous mail clients and it allows you to decide how to extract your messages and how to store them.

Aid4Mail is available in Home, Professional and eDiscovery editions. None of them is free, but you can test the trial versions on the same interface, without any restrictions. You can install the program fast, on all popular Windows platforms, without making any advanced configurations.

Essentially, Aid4Mail is a wizard. It guides you step by step throughout the entire process with clear and easy to understand instructions. First, you need to select the source mail client. As previously stated, Aid4Mail is compatible with a large number of mail clients. MS Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Eudora and Pegasus Mail are just a few examples. When selecting a client, you can also decide to include or restore the mail from your trash, unpurged mail and more. Next, you need to select a profile and one or more folders from your mailbox.

The software allows you to set up filters as well. You can choose to exclude messages if they are newer or older than a certain date and you can also filter them by domains, attachments and other criteria. The available output formats are displayed in a long list, just like the input formats. Depending on the selected format, you may find additional options during the next step. For example, if you opt for a Mozilla Thunderbird format, you may choose between different line formats, like CRLF for Windows, LF for Unix and Mac, and CR for Macintosh.

When you reach the final step of the procedure, you will be able to set the program to preserve the full messages, to remove attachments and keep nothing but rich content or keep nothing but plain text. Additionally, you can decide to restore the source mail folder structure, exclude duplicates, use unique MD5 file names and more.

Pros

The application supports a good number of mail clients and it allows you to convert emails to and from various formats. You can set up filters and store messages according to your personal settings.

Cons

You have to wait until a progress bar fills up, while using the trial version. If you want to migrate to another mail client or store your messages in a safe place, Aid4Mail will make this task much faster and easier.
